I had absolutely no idea that Sunny Day Real Estate had gotten back together. Not reading any music magazines or frequenting any music websites will do that to you.
Tonight, I Googled “boston music blogs” and came up with one I’ve looked at a few times before, but had forgotten about: Bradley’s Almanac. Bradley’s latest post [...]

Coverage of U2 in Somerville
Posted in music on March 12, 2009 | Leave a Comment »
Like most folks in Boston who listen to music at all, or watch the news at all, or breathe the air at all, all I could think about yesterday was U2 and the fact that they were playing the humble Somerville Theather for a special “secret show” to celebrate the release [...]

The song’s available for download on the wonderful Songs: Illinois blog, and you can find the post at this link right here. Also, you can listen to some other tracks on [...]
The new Bond song rocks

I caught the new James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace, this past weekend and was thoroughly entertained. I think that I enjoyed the pacing and action, and the film overall, even more than Casino Royale.
Both films have their problems, but Quantum of Solace is a more solid thrill-ride which began with perhaps the most thrilling [...]

On Tuesday I played at Transperformance 18, along with co-workers and some other friends, in a local media super-group dubbed The Vuzz . We transperformed as ZZ Top.
That’s me on the right, in full costumed glory. It was a blast. This was the fourth Transperformance that I’ve participated in over the years. Way back in [...]

Not a whole lot of time lately to blog, since I’ve been busy working on my ZZ Top costume, and preparing for my move to the big city. As a result, there have been an awful lot of music posts lately.
And, here’s one more.
This song by Langhorne Slim makes me happy, even though the subject [...]

Flipping through channels the other night, I happened across PBS, which was showing a clips show of segments of the Johnny Cash Show . The variety program was hosted by Johnny on ABC from 1969-71. Essentially, he would trot out his friends to sing songs and sometimes join them.
For instance, Neil Young played. Bob Dylan [...]

Today, I was searching around the web for info on PJ Harvey, for no real reason.
I’m not sure why, but I haven’t really listened in a while except for the rare occassion when she pops up while the iPod’s on shuffle.
One of the highlights from today’s searches is this live run-through of the song “White [...]
