In the first moments of hearing this song I thought it was Ron Sexsmith.Do you hear that in the voice,too? A similar timbre?
Great song. I love it when the lyrics are unusual and keep your ears alert.

I just stayed at this restored hotel in Deadwood a few weeks ago. It was like being on the SHOW! (except it was a lot more comfortable and nobody was cussin at me!). I talked to the owner while I was there, he restored the building from its condemned status to its original 1893 beauty. It’s a bit later than the show, but still amazing to see what happened in deadwood so soon after the gold rush.

That’s very well put, Anonymous, and kind of hits the nail on the head. I was rewatching “The Pledge” the day after reading the article, having totally forgotten that he was in it. When his scene came on I was totally transfixed. Sean Penn also gets us with a great reveal of Rourke, as the camera shows the back of his head for a while and then finally spins around for an “Oh, it’s Mickey Rourke!” moment.

It was perfect.

That was a great article in EW.Rourke was/is magical I like the comment from one director that if he died after Angel Heart he would have been an icon like James Dean.That is exactly how I feel….not many of his movies were great but he was … the only actor that I will watch a movie just to watch him act in it without concern for the plot or overall quality of the movie.
